Programme One

Home Repair Programme

A safe, warm home is the foundation for everything else in a family's life. Our Home Repair Programme addresses the urgent and critical housing repair needs of Bay of Plenty whānau who cannot access or afford the repairs they need.

We work with volunteers, donated materials, and trusted tradespeople to carry out repairs that make a real difference - from a leaky roof that causes damp and mould, to structural issues that put families at risk.

Types of Repairs We Carry Out

Every home is different. We assess each situation individually to prioritise the most critical work.

Roofing and Weatherproofing

Leaky roofs, damaged guttering, broken windows, and draught-sealing to keep homes dry and warm.

Structural and Safety

Rotting floors, unstable foundations, dangerous stairs, and other structural hazards that make a home unsafe.

Warmth and Insulation

Ceiling and underfloor insulation, heat pump installation, and ventilation improvements for healthy homes.

Kitchens and Bathrooms

Donated and repurposed kitchen and bathroom fittings installed to improve everyday living conditions.

Materials Redistribution

We source and redistribute donated building materials - keeping usable materials out of landfill and into homes.

Wraparound Coordination

Connecting whānau with other community services, trades, and funding they may be eligible for.

Assessment Visit

One of our team will visit your home to assess what repairs are needed and discuss the options with you. There is no obligation at this stage.

Plan and Resource

We put together a plan for the work - sourcing volunteers, coordinating tradespeople, and identifying any materials we can donate or access.

The Mahi Begins

Our volunteers and tradespeople get to work. We keep you informed throughout and make sure the site is safe and tidy when we are done.
